Another of my favorite Anime characters: Sesshoumaru-sama A.K.A Fluffy (cause that's what he is)!
Hands down the coolest character from Inuyasha! Fluffy is Inuyasha's older brother, but unlike Inuyasha he is full youkai
(demon), which makes him stronger and more powerful than Inuyasha, but he has soft spots too....
This is a basic overview on how Sesshoumaru first began to develop his "soft spots"!
We first encounter him when he is accompanied by his servant Jaken (I hope he squashes him...) and is on the quest to
find his father's grave. He is searching for the sword made from his father's fang, Tetsusaiga! By tricking Inuyasha
in various ways he discovers the grave in Inuyasha's eye and enters, but Inuyasha follows him. Although neither can
pick up the sword said to be able to kill hundreds in a single swing, they battle for it. When Kagome is able to take
the sword from its resting place she gives it to Inuyasha. Fluffy changes into his youkai form, a giant dog, but Inuyasha
is able to use Tetsusaiga to cut of his arm and he leaves before he can cut off anymore!
Sesshoumaru then began another quest; to find another arm. Naraku gives him a human arm imbeded with a Shikon
shard so that he will be able to hold the Tetsusaiga (but he steals it back). Sesshoumaru continues to come
after Inuyasha in order to attain the sword. Each arm he finds is cast aside.
What Inuyasha doesn't know is that Fluffy also has a special sword, but different from every variation of "sword".
The Tensiega cannot kill, it can only heal. For obvious reasons, Sesshoumaru never uses it.
Fluffy finally goes to the maker of the Tetsusaiga and Tensiega, Toutosai, to make him create another sword for
him. When Toutosai refuses (he doesn't like Fluffy) Sesshoumaru chases him. Unfortunately for poor Fluffy, Toutosai
runs to Inuyasha for sanctuary. The brothers proceed to have a fight, as usual. But Fluffy didn't know that Inuyasha
can now use Kazi no Kizu (Wound of the Wind) with the Tetsusaiga. When Inuyasha hits Sesshoumaru with Kazi no Kizu the
Tensiega saves him, but barely.
Sesshoumaru leaves and hides in the woods to recooperate from his wounds. This is when his character really begins
to develop! A little girl, Rin, from a nearby village brings Fluffy some fish to eat, to which he replies "I don't
eat human food" Rin's village is attacked by wolf youkai and she is killed. Luckily for Rin (lucky, lucky Rin)
Sesshoumaru comes across her body during his journey. He saves her by using the Tensiega and she begins to start traveling
with him....
With Rin at Sesshoumaru's side he begins to make interesting but subtle changes in his personality (not conciously
of course, he didn't go insane). For instance, later Fluffy has every opportunity to kill Inuyasha, one of his long-term
goals, but doesn't. And, check out the pic (above) when his eyes are red! That's when he's about to kill Naraku
for kidnapping Rin!
Sesshoumaru-sama is SO cool! The suffix of his name
(-maru) is something put on by the father when they're pleased with the child. Kawaii ^_^!! He is,
like Legato-sama, ice. But, every once in a while, the surface of ice breaks and we get to see the Fluffy inside!
Rin is opening his eyes to new things that he thought a youkai would never (or SHOULD never) do, like caring for humans.
I think that she is also making him get really fed up with Jaken...which is a GOOD thing ^_^!
