Vash the Stampede. His true character is an enigma throughout most of Trigun. You find out about
his past in bits and pieces, before all is explained in Episode #17 and you learn about Rem.
Insanely funny and random, Vash is considered a goof-off by most. The only person who seems to notice that he's
more than meets the eye (bad guys included) is the "blonde" Millie. Obviously Millie is not as blonde as she appears.
Vash has many mysterious qualities that aren't explained for quite a while. Vash has a hidden gun, which is attached
where his left arm would be. His arm was shot off by his brother, Knives, when he first used the Angel Arm. The
Angel Arm is Vash's cool silver gun. When its activated, it blows away entire cities. Knives first activates it
and causes Vash to destroy the city of July. Later, Legato uses his psycic powers to cause it to activate again, and
this time Augusta is destroyed. He (Legato) tries to get Vash to use it again, but Vash is able to stop it. Eventually
Vash uses it of his own accord to save his life during his fight with Knives. Knives uses his own Angel Arm in
order to destroy Vash, but Vash uses HIS and cancels Knives' out!
How can Vash have such cool stuff, you might ask. How, was he able to be inside an activated plant and survive?
How is he able to dodge bullets? How did he destroy July twenty years ago, but doesn't appear to have aged at all?
Easily explained. Vash, we find, is one of the beings from inside the plants. This is why he
is able to heal the broken plants. This is why his arm, which Knives gives to Legato, gives Legato more power!
Yeah, Vash is cool, if a bit wacked.
